Building Social Skills
For
children, the ability of behaving appropriately when presented
with a difficult social situation may be impossible if they
have never mastered the ability of basic social skills. Children
who act inappropriately in social situations can often be
rejected by their peers. Once rejected from a social group,
it can be exceedingly difficult to bounce back, build friendships
and socially interact, to try to further develop their social
skills and confidence. Then, as a result of their lack of
confidence combined with a deficiency of appropriate abilities
in relating to others, it becomes even more difficult to
make friends. This vicious cycle can continue to spiral downward,
unless the child is taught appropriate social interactions.
Even children with severe social anxiety may be taught ways
to help themselves cope with difficult social situations.
The BoostKids program is designed to help improve the social
abilities of all levels, ages and stages of children. Our
program can help your child with building social skills they
need, to create the opportunities that will help them in
the future. It can provide for them the social assistance
that will help them gain the confidence that is crucial for
adulthood.
The
wonderful thing about the BoostKids program is that it can
help with building social skills in children from the ground
up. The program presents information to kids in a variety
of different ways, and uses a layering method, that reinforces
everything they learn. As an example, let’s assume
your child is meeting someone for the first time. In an ideal
situation, two people who are unfamiliar with each other
would make eye contact, perhaps give a slight smile or nod
in recognition, and politely say hello.
This program properly
explains how to handle situations, like meeting new people,
and being polite. It is designed to help those who
are lacking in social knowledge and aren’t certain
on how to interact with others, by building a base of proficiency.
The program starts with an interactive CD-ROM, which includes “real
life” reenacted videos of social situations, and shows
the right and wrong way to address them. It then reinforces
the information learned on the CD-ROM with the easy to follow
BoostKids activity book, and BoostKids flash cards. Upon
completion, your child will recognize the social situations
that they have studied in the program happening in real life,
and they will know exactly how to handle them with confidence. You
will be impressed with how our program can help kids with
building social skills, and developing self esteem.
The
BoostKids program will help your child grow into a socially
well rounded adult. It can be what they need for building
social skills and confidence. We are sure that it can help
your child become comfortable socially interacting with not
only their peers, but with their teachers and other adults.
It’s great for children who are shy and need help for
building social skills.
The program makes it very easy for your child with building
social skills. It also gives you a way to track your child’s
progress too. Testing is provided to assess the social skill
level of your child before they begin the program and intermittent
progress reports are also provided. A final test is used
to assess the level of social development your child has
reached after they completed the program. A certificate is
also provided which may be printed and presented to your
child upon graduation from the program, which will give them
a feeling of accomplishment. They can proudly put it
on display wherever they like.
